This line of furniture is typically what you will see on your average hotel, condominium, or apartment pool deck. There are several different styles of outdoor strap furniture. When purchasing this line of pool furniture it is important to consider a number of features.
- Be sure the vinyl straps are double wrapped. This means the strap is wrapped around the aluminum frame twice. This will prevent the straps form popping off the frame for an extended period of time. The vinyl straps should be 2” wide not 1 ½”
- Three spreader bars under your chaise lounge. One on the back and two under the base
- Two spreader bars on your dining chair. One under the seat and the other between the two back legs.
- Your chaise lounge should be constructed in a way so your cliental can not pinch their fingers when the back of the chaise lounge is adjusted in a lay down position. (Finger guards)
- If you have a sled base on your chaise lounge we recommend a Welded skid. When using a resin skid typically the resin skids fall off and then the bottom of your chaise lounges or chairs start to get worn on the frame of the furniture. It is important to have your maintenance person all be aware to check for missing skids.
- Check to see what type of paint finish is used on your furniture. A Powder-coated paint finish is recommended.
- The adjuster brackets will either be aluminum or resin. There is less maintenance when using an aluminum adjuster bracket.
- If stacking furniture is going to be a necessity, it is important consider this option.
- The Chaise lounge seat height is another feature you may want to look into. The higher the seat the more comfortable it will be for you clientele.
- Commercial warranty. The standard and realistic warranty is 5 years on the frame, 5 years on the powder-coat finish and 5 years on the straps from popping of the frame.
Maintenance for your Aluminum Strap Furniture
Your pool deck is one of the most important features when your potential renter, customer or guest will be looking at when they decide to stay with you.
If your pool furniture is not looking its best this could be a reflection of what your whole property looks like.
Maintenance on your pool furniture is so important - one of your most important assists.
When you first purchase your strap outdoor furniture you should have your maintenance team take car wax, and wax your vinyl strapping. Consider having a car with a vinyl roof. You would wax your roof to prevent the roof from dulling and loosing its luster from the harsh sun.
Your straps are being used day after day and are submitted to all types of body perspirations, sand, suntan lotion, chlorine and not to mention the sun which is very brutal. The sun bakes the perspiration and dirt into your strap which causes discoloration and stains. When you wax your vinyl it protects the strap. Never use any type of abrasive cleaner or Clorox. This takes off the wax and this will begin damaging the straps. Even the chlorine for your pool can cause the strap to loose its waxy protection. This is why it is important to wash your straps with soap and water then wax them at least every 6 months depending on the amount of use your furniture receives. This will conserve the longevity of your furniture and save you money in the future.
