The Town of Ponce Inlet, located just south of Daytona Beach Shores, reached out to ET&T Distributors to design and install two public playgrounds that would meet the needs of the town’s smallest residents.
Located on one of Florida’s many barrier islands, the unique and sometimes extreme conditions of this environment necessitate the need for aluminum construct-customized playground structures that could not only withstand the corrosive nature of the beachside setting, but provide shade during the Sunshine State’s hottest days.
The Shasta Playground is filled with activities for ages 5-12. Three-Wheel Overhead Spinners, a Pull-Up Bar, and an Overhead Horizontal Ladder all help kids develop upper body strength. Children can also zip down a Straight Slide, discover an Inverted Arch Climber, a Pod Climber, and a delightful Spiral Slide. Underneath the playground one will find a bevy of dynamite accessories, like the ADA-compliant Rain Wheel and Ship’s Wheel, which provide kids with thrilling play options.
The Jumping Jaguar Playground, geared for ages 2-5, has a detailed nature theme that includes a Monkey Topper, Parrot Topper, and Flower Face Topper, and rustic wood plank paneling. Activities include a Tic-Tac-Toe Panel, Drum Panel, and Elephant Panel, a Wave Slide, a Left Turn Slide and a Tube Bridge. The Drum Panel, Single Drum, and Rain Wheel activities at ground level allow kids to fill the air with their very own jungle beats.
Both playgrounds include customized Playground Rules Signs and have been safety-surfaced with Artificial Playground Grass Turf.
Recycled plastic 6’ Newport Benches and 6’ Park Place Picnic Tables were also provided to give watchful parents a comfortable place to relax under the shade of the park’s gazebo.
