Bayberry Lakes located in Daytona Beach FL is a very proactive community and is dedicated to provide the most safe and secure environment for its residents --- especially the children.
They decided to install a playground in a portion of the community that was not covered by the state laws and city ordinances regarding RSO individuals - and thus, the playground combines with a state law prohibiting sex offenders whose victims were younger than 16 from living within 1,000 feet of a school, child care facility, park or playground, and a city ordinance that bars them from 2,500 feet from such a facility.
They decided to keep RSO completely out of their community and away from their children. The Daytona Beach News Journal and local law enforcement applauded the community for their initiative.
And the kids are happy!
A big playground with multiple acitivities was installed inside a black fence; benches, a trash recpetacle, and Funtimber borders and engineered wood mulch completed the project.
